Samia’s latest track is a dreamy, shimmering piece of indie-pop. ‘Big Wheel’ is full of interesting textures and luscious melodies that show off Samia’s unique vocal delivery. She explains that the track is about avoiding conflict: “I wrote it after a few hours of lying in bed imagining hypothetical conversations with people that I was too scared to have in real life. It’s a passive confession of harboured resentments buried in a laundry list of gratitude.” The track is accompanied by one of the strangest and creepiest, yet more genius, videos I’ve ever seen. It places a dancing Samia into a selection of normal landscapes before animating a selection of more and more menacing mimics into the environment.
